Inspiration:     “Who told you that you were naked?”  God speaking to Adam in the Garden of Eden after the serpent beguiled the man and his wife, Eve.  Genesis 3:11 (NIV)

Be: (positive confession) I Am Voice Activated.

Do: (first steps) Today, be very discerning about whose voices you allow to speak into your life.  It is a known fact that words are able to produce different reactions in different people and have the potential to shape your destiny.  In his book the “DNA of Relationships” Gary Smalley discusses this exact topic and shows how a person who was ridiculed for being tall while in high school can react sharply negative to a comment about his height meant to be a compliment at a later stage in life.  Realize, though, that the only people who can hurt you or cause you to see yourself as inadequate are the ones you give the right to.  Choose this instant to be extremely picky as to who receives that privilege, you can not afford to let it fall to just anyone.  In addition exercise discrimination in the words you decide to speak to and about yourself, and remember what you say will lodge in your soul and in your spirit.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I use wisdom in selecting the sources and messages I allow to enter through my ear gate the voices I hear will activate profound growth and improve my well-being.

Be, Do, and Have a Great Day!  God Bless You!

Daily Scripture: Vowing To Turn It Around

Posted by 24 Oct, 2008

As the rain falls on the earth this morning, let the spirit of God rain on you and reign in you as you meditate on tese words found in Genesis 28 (NIV) Genesis 28 20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey [...]

As the rain falls on the earth this morning, let the spirit of God rain on you and reign in you as you meditate on tese words found in Genesis 28 (NIV)

Genesis 28

20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21 so that I return safely to my father’s house, then the LORD [g] will be my God 22 and [h] this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

Up to this point in his life Jacob had been true to his names meaning, Deceiver.  Through deception he had gained both his brother’s birthright and blessing.  After encountering God in a dream he woke up and made this vow and began to change his direction.  Though he experienced challenges along the way and was himself the victim of deception at the hand of his Father -in-law Laban (even he couldn’t vioate the law of sowing and reaping) Jacob experienced God’s protection and supernatural provision.

Today set your focus on building the kingdom of God and allow the Holy One of Israel to work on your behalf.

God Bless You,

Dr A.J.

The Thought For The Day: Be Hungry

Inspiration: “We are hungry for more, if we do not consciously pursue the More, we create less for ourselves and make it more difficult to experience more in life.”  Judith Wright

Be: (positive confession) I Am Hungry (for good stuff).

Do: (first steps) Today, learn to curb your craving for things that are seemingly satisfying, but not really beneficial.  As sweets, beforehand, can spoil your appetite for healthy food you can just as easily wreck your most intimate relationships by choosing to take in “eye candy” in place of honoring your spouse, destroy your body by deciding to ingest liters of soda rather than copious amounts of water, and waste your most precious commodity – time- by plopping down in front of the television for hours instead of developing your mind through a good book.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I decide to drop time, energy, and intimacy wasters I will create space that allows me to hunger for things that really do benefit me and the people around me.

Be, Do, and Have a Great Day!  God Bless You!

Daily Scripture: The Power of The Blessing

Continue to trust in the eternal truth of God’s Word.  While times and people will change He is always the sam and His word will not fail.  Be blessed as you meditate and apply the truth of the Word found in Genesis 27 (NKJV)……

Genesis 27

38 And Esau said to his father, “Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me—me also, O my father!” And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.

The reaction of Esau after finding out that Jacob stole his father’s blessing is one we as father’s should not take lightly.  With all that we provide for our children: food on the table, a place to live, clothes on their back there is something every child has need of….The blessing of their father.  Withholding our blessing from our children is perhaps the most damaging thing we can do to their self esteem and their outlook on life.  Even if you do not approve of what they do, you need to let your children know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you value who they are.  Today make it a point to speak a blessing over your children (and your spouse); you have the power to decree a thing and see it be so in their lives.

One other thing, I want you to know today, if you didn’t grow up with a father or perhaps grew up with one who was abusive or not there for you your heavenly father LOVES you, so much so that he sacrificed his one and only son on your behalf and entrusted his holy spirit to you.  I declare right now that YOU are blessed and highly favored among men, you are a strong and mighty man who will produce much fruit, you are full of wisdom and with long life the Lord will satisfy you.  In Jesus name.

God Bless You,

Dr A.J.
