Inspiration: “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” Theodore Roosevelt

Be: (positive confession) I Am a Giant Killer.

Do: (first steps) Today, don’t be afraid to take on the Big Tasks, the challenges in life.  Every Giant in your way was meant to be taken down.  Every obstacle was meant to be overcome.  Will it be difficult, maybe, but the results to you and others are worth the struggle.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I dare to conquer Giants I expose myself to challenges that will serve me well either in victory or temporary defeatThe biggest spoils come to those who triumph over a foe no one else dares face.

Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!

Inspiration:  “Listening, not imitation, may be the sincerest form of flattery”. Dr Joyce Brothers

Be: (positive confession) I Am a Good ListenerI am able to listen intently to others before I interrupt with my own thoughts or agenda.

Do: (first steps) Today, resist the temptation to “cut in” on another’s conversation until you know what they are saying not when you think you know what they are saying. When you do answer practice “instant replay”, replay in your words what you believe the other person was saying to you.  This will help to avoid misunderstandings and allow you to be in a better position to provide assistance.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I develop my ability to be a better listener I actually begin hearing what is really being said and can more fully be of help to the people around me and in so doing help myselfThis one skill will put me in a legitimate win win position; winning both persoannlly and professionally by allowing me to avoid many relational conflicts and develop deeper more intimate bonds in my personal life and make more sales and create lifetime clients on the business side.

Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!

Inspiration: “Change yourself and your work will seem different.”  Norman Vincent Peale

Be: (Positive Confession) I am Doing Something Different Daily.

Do: (First Steps) Today, and everyday tap into your intuitive creative prowess.  People burn out because they lose the zest for life.  This shouldn’t be and doesn’t have to be if you take a few minutes each day to jump off the treadmill of the ordinary.  This will definitely mean stepping out of your “familiar zone“, but trust me on this it beats the alternative.  Sure you can continue along safely in the hum drum of life if you don’t mind staying the same, but remember a lack of growth is actually, dare I say it, shrinkage.  Why shrink, though, when the benefits of taking just one extraordinary step are so manifold:  including internal personal growth, increased zest for life, understanding different cultures, improved brain function,  and a decreased risk of Alzeheimers and other degenerative brain disorders.  Here are a few suggestions to get you started: walk up to a complete stranger and offer a word or two of encouragement, eat something you’ve never tried before, call a “long lost” friend out of the blue, unplug all the televisions in your house for an entire day, learn a complete sentence in another language, take a different route to or from work (or use a different mode of transportation altogether), or write a short description of what you want tomorrow to be like.  The possibilities are boundless, these are a great place to start.

Have: (Making dreams reality) As I allow my creative juices to flow I’ll experience the adventure life is supposed to be ad I’ll have such an expectation of what each day might bring that I won’t need to use “mind over Mattress” (1) to get out of bed in the morning.

Be, do, and have the best day of your life!  God bless you!

The Thought For The Day: Release The Small Stuff

Inspiration:When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened.”  Winston Churchill

Be: (positive confession) I am Releasing the Small Stuff

Do: (First steps) Today, stop sweating the small stuff.  For those of you who think I just went schizo, this isn’t the same as paying attention to details and being excellent in little things (see 10/12/2009).  As the saying goes “stuff happens” and those who are successful have learned not to fret it but to actually expect it to happen…… daily.  That’s right, and how you handle the car not starting, your best client moving, your kids coming down with the flu dujour, and a million other challenges that come your way will determine just how far  you will go and how successful you can be.  You are crazy if you think the world’s top producers never experience “stuff”. The fact is they probably are faced with the oreo on a daily basis (for those of you who don’t eat cookies, that’s DOUBLE STUFF).  So remember this today and everyday, don’t focus on what you can’t control and stay in control of your ‘tude and your emotions.  You can whine or you can win; you can stress or promote success, you can complain or you can ingrain positive thoughts about who you are and where you are going.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I release those things I can’t control and them as trivial compared to what I already am blessed with I’ll add years to my life and life to my years.

Be, do, and have the best day of your life!  God Bless you!

Inspiration:Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
Vincent Van Gogh

Be: (Positive Confession) I am BIG in the Small Things.

Do: (First Steps) Today, make a list of 5 things you know you should be doing, but aren’t, on a daily basis.  Try to spread it out among things for you personal health, family well being, and the success of your business.  On the opposite side of your sheet write down 5 things that you are presently doing with day to day regularity that you know (that you know that you know) are wearing you down, burning you out, and leaving you dry (as before spread these out over the key areas of your life: personal;, family, business).  Now, make it a point to start doing JUST one of the 5 shoulds and dropping JUST one of the 5 should nots.  Post the list on your blackberry or monthly calendar 17 days out and “add and drop” from the two lists again; repeat 3 more times at 17 day intervals.

Have: (Turning Dreams Into Reality) As I am faithful  in the little things I will produce a series of fortunate events en route to greatness.

Be, do, and have the best day of your life! God Bless You!

Inspiration: “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” Bruce Lee

Be: (positive confession) I am Consistent

Do: (first steps) Today, realize that brillance is not in variety but in being able to perform the seemingly mundane, perfectly and repeatably.  Don’t believe me?  Just take a look at McDonald’s.  I am sure you can attest to the fact that you have eaten far better tasting and mre filling burgers, and yet there is no disputing that from a business standpoint the chain is a mega success.  Why?  They have a repeatable system.  Ask yourself what are the one or two things that I need to do daily with consistent excellence that will set me apart, then hone that skill to the point where it can stand up, even under the most extreme amount of pressure.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I develop the ability to reproduce the ordinary with extreme precision I’ll have the respect of those who know greatness.

Be, do, and have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!

Do: (first steps) Today, make one extra call, knock on one more door, read one extra page, or study just 10 minutes longer.

Have: (making dreams reality)  As I decide not to accept “no” as an answer to my dreams I draw one step further to fulfilling them

Inspiration:  “The will to win is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win.”  Bobby Knight.

Be: (positive confession) I Am Prepared.  I take the steps necessary to be ready for the ordinary and out of the ordinary things that come my way each and every day.

Do: (first steps) Today, identify the most common questions or dilemmas you are posed every day and write out your response.  Then read your response out loud to yourself, if it doesn’t move you to action odds are it won’t for the people you are responding to whether it be a spouse, friend, or client. Rewrite and Reread, until it moves you!!!

Have: (making dreams reality) As I prepare each day for the day ahead I have a hand up on my competition because nothing can take me by surprise and even if by chance something were to surprise me I have the fortitude to overcome it.

Inspiration: “Time is a finite entity. People talk about time management as if the clock we live by has ears to hear and a will to obey us, but the truth is you can’t manage time.  What you need to manage is your energy level so that you can make the most of the time you have.”  A.J. Rubano, D.C.

Be: (positive confession) I Am an Energy Manager.

Do: (first steps) Today, make a list of your own personal energy zappers and energy increasers.  Where possible eliminate these energy consumers from your daily schedule (for you stressed out parents, this does not mean selling your children to the highest bidder) and find a way to include those things that heighten your focus and zest for life.  Here are a couple of suggestions to consider: the music we listen to, the smells we are subjected to, the amount of light (or lack thereof) entering our home and office, the degree to which we procrastinate, and the amount of clutter in our lives are all environmental factors that can affect our mood and positively or negatively influence our verve.  For best results put these into practice along with the internal factors we discussed last week (See: Choosing Success, September 28, 2009).

Have: (making dreams reality) As I become proficient at managing myself around time I’ll be well on my way to having the potency of a nuclear power plant.

Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!

Inspiration:  “God will pick you up out of the pit, but he won’t pick you up out of your recliner.” Rev. John Antonucci, Pastor Faith Fellowship World Outreach Ministries

Be: (positive confession) I Am Hard Working.

Do: (first steps) Today, put in the effort to be successful.  I know many so-called experts say don’t work harder, work smarter.  To them I say why not do both!  There is no substitute for a concerted, focused effort in any thing that you want to be good at because despite what you may have heard your life’s desires won’t be dropped in your lap like pennies falling from heaven.  The smart part comes in knowing where your diligence needs to be applied the most in your business (i.e. sales, marketing, customer service) and in your personal life (i.e. communication, money-sense, parenting, diet, exercise, etc.) to bring those dreams into reality.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I apply myself whole-heartedly, working smarter and harder I’ll produce a more consistently abundant harvest.

Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!
