My Friend Larry Cunard
September 2, 1949- September 26, 2009

Larry was a man much like any other; he had his frailties and faults, some problems and uneasy thoughts.

By the Lord’s grace and the power of his will he gave what he had and shared God’s Love
For times such as these I know he was sent from up above.

He went to the prisons to help get men freed
He sang, acted, and played his guitar depending on the need

He opened his home and most important his heart, to the mighty men of war
He poured in oil and tended to the wounds of many who were scarred

A tower of strength, a humble encourager for the young and for the haggard
A fine example for his family and friends, when adversity arose his faith never staggered

In business and in life his character showed forth; an integrity rare in this day and hour
Those of us who worship the King, know that was the secret of Larry’s power.

If he was here right now I’m sure he’d tell us to carry on the work of the kingdom and not to be broken hearted
He’d smile and say in his hearty voice go finish what we’ve started.

So in this time of trial and grief, when a tear fills your eye look heavenward and smile.
Let your fears be quieted and your heart refreshed because its not “good-bye”, its “I’ll see you, Lar, in a little while.”

Inspiration: “There are two ways of exerting ones strength: one is pushing down, the other is pulling up.” George Washington Carver

Be: (positive confession) I Am Pulling Up.

Do: (first steps) Today, demonstrate your inner strength.  When given the opportunity to push someone further down the totem pole make it your mission to, instead, pull them up the ladder of success.  There are those who would say, “I’m not my brother’s keeper” but it’s that type of thinking that has created the mess we now find ourselves.  It may be easier and more common to push down, but the extra effort of pulling up will fortify your back side and cause you to stand up tall.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I exercise an uncommon concern for my fellow man I’ll strengthen others as I strengthen myself.

Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!

Inspiration: “Some think it’s holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it’s letting go.”  Sylvia Robinson

Be: (positive confession) I Am Letting Go.

Do: (first steps) Today, choose to let go of bitterness and unforgiveness.  Holding on to theses twins won’t harm the perpetrator of the betrayal or slight, but it will hold you back from fulfilling your destiny.  According to James Macdonald, author of 10 Choices, A Proven Plan To Change Your Life Forever, there have been at least 60 studies that show a clear connection between the health of the body and the effects of unforgiveness including one that showed vengeful thoughts for as little as 16 seconds led to an increase in blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension and a reduction in the amount of disease fighting T-cells.  The research on the positive side is just as compelling revealing that when we forgive there is a reduction in the stress hormone cortisol, which has also been linked to certain types of cancer and the inability to lose body fat.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I learn to let go of past hurts I’ll have a happier, healthier, and slimmer life.

Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life!  God Bless You!
