Inspiration: “Physical strength can never permanently withstand the impact of spiritual force.” Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd President the United States

Be: (positive Confession) I am an I.M.P.A.C.T. Player

Do: (first steps) Today, willingly engage in the game of life.  As Napoleon Hill once said “you must get involved to have an impact.  No one is impressed with the won-loss record of the referee.”  Sure, you may be petrified at first, but step out anyway and allow the force of your God-blessed spirit to touch the life of someone else.  Open up your mouth and share your reason for living, the hope of your calling, and the great testimony of what the Lord has done for you and through you.  Not sure where to start, follow this blue print: I- initiate contact with some other person M- make an assessment of the needs at hand P- provide assistance A- act on your convictions C - care enough to be criticized T- trust the Holy Spirit to give you the words to speak and to soften hearts.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I connect with others on a spiritual level the ensuing contact will result in life changing results and impact generations to come.

The Thought For The Day: Law Abiding Citizen

Be: (positive Confession) I am a Law Abiding Citizen.

Do: (first steps) Today, understand that the confidence of citizenship lies in your willingness to abide by the laws of the land.  There is freedom within the protective boundaries of the laws laid down to ensure the well being of the entire citizenry; and while I may not like or even agree with certain legislation, acceptance of its authority guarantees the rights I so richly cherish.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I submit to the legal rule of the territory of which I am a citizen I’ll also partake in the rights and privileges associated with being a member of that state.

Be: (positive Confession) I am a Dominator.
Do: (first steps) Today, accept your position of influence in this world by learning how to take dominion over your area of gifting.  Don’t make the mistake of attempting to control or manipulate others instead rule yourself and the special talents you’ve been endowed with by your creator.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I learn how to serve my gifts to the world I won’t need to seek for or try to compel others to follow me; instead I’ll find that they are naturally attracted by my gifting.

The Thought For the Day: Posture Pro

Inspiration: “It has been said that posture is the window to the spine. That’s because what we see in the mirror is caused by what is happening to the muscles and bones underneath the skin. In reality, posture is a window to our health. It should be treated as an indicator, much like blood pressure can be used as an indicator of cardiovascular health.” Joseph Ventura, D.C.
Be: (positive Confession) I am a Posture Pro.

Do: (first steps) Today, sit up straight, pull your shoulders back, and absolutely no slouching.  Remind you of your Mom or Dad addressing the poor posture you demonstrated while in grade school?  Believe it or not, simply willing yourself to sit and stand straight still won’t get the job done; which is why despite your best efforts to please your parents you always look crooked in those old (and new) family photos.  Good posture can go a long way in helping your confidence and improving your overall appearance and, trust me on this, can be improved by adding some proven postural exercises to your daily routine.  The two most common postural distortions I see on a daily basis are Upper and Lower Cross Syndromes.  Simply stated, Upper Cross Syndrome occurs when the muscles in the chest and anterior (front) neck over power the muscles on the posterior (back) neck and upper back.  If you have rounded shoulders and the center of your ears are in front of your shoulders than this is you.  The correction of this problem is done by stretching the chest and front neck muscles and strengthing the upper back and rear neck muscles.  Lower Cross Syndrome is very commonly a cause of lower back pain and is usually the result of tight Hamstrings (the back upper thigh muscles) and Psoas Muscles (located at the bottom of the abdomen and groin on both sides) and weak lower back and front leg muscles (quadriceps).  To fix this you need to shorten the lower back muscles through strengthening exercises and elongate the hamstrings and psoas through flexibility maneuvers.  To receive an explanation of specific exercises to correct upper and lower cross syndromes simply post a comment to Today’s Daily Thought and a link will be emailed directly to you.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I address the root cause of poor posture instead of feeling uptight I’ll stand upright, allowing me to feel and look better!

Inspiration: “To endure is the first thing that a child ought to learn, and that which he will have the most need to know” Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Be: (positive Confession) I am Durable.

Do: (first steps) Today, develop the mental toughness needed to withstand any challenge you face. Here are 5 proven strategies to help you in your quest to become Championship Tough. 1. Let Go and Let God!  Acknowledge past failures, but don’t keep reviewing them otherwise, like driving a car while only looking in the rearview mirror you are bound to crash into the future.  2. Be Present focused.  Too often our minds are wont to wander into the future, which has the tendency ton cause us to be less than our best in the here and now.  When you feel yourself drifting into the future, pull yourself back by asking a question about what excites you about NOW, or create a key word phrase to get you to concentrate on your visceral responses at that moment (i.e. breathing, smelling, hearing).  3.  Look at the PLUS side of things.  You have the choice to fill your mind with all the things that are going on wrong around you or to direct your attention on those that are positive.  While you may feel the need to earn the praise of others, there is no rule that dictates you can’t verbally recognize all the good things about yourself. 4.  Develop and Use Rituals.  World Class athletes can perform during the most pressure packed situations like they would if doing it in the quiet of there own back-yard with no spectators because they stick to their routine.  (For example the basketball player who breathes twice, takes 3 dribbles, and spins the ball into his hand before taking every foul shot)  Human beings are creatures of habit, and the better habits you develop and are able to stick to the better the results.  5.  Focus on the journey more than the destinationRealize that while you can’t always control outcomes you can control your output.  Cultivate your love for giving your best and forget about the rest; you’ll find that when you do, the rest will take care of itself.  (Reference: Sports Psychology for Dummies by Leif Smith Psy. D. and Todd M. Kays, Ph.D.)

Have: (making dreams reality) As I improve my mental strength I’ll have the capacity to overcome the fear of failure and freedom to compete at a world class level.

Be: (positive Confession) I am Fruit- Full.

Do: (first steps) Today, eat a minimum of 7 servings of fruit and vegetables. Though, science has tried bottling the essential nutrients found in apples, oranges, kale, rhubarb, and brussel sprouts the truth is that no packaged vitamin can compare to the synergistic value found in a whole food source.  Dating back to 1991, The National Cancer Institute recommended a minimum of 5 servings a day of fruits and vegetables, finding that those who ate 9 servings daily (4 fruit/5 vegetable) effectively decreased their risks of high blood pressure, heart disease, certain types of cancer, and diabetes (all diseases that are on the rise).  Here are a few things to keep in mind as you go for 9. 1.  Eat Organic when possible, for higher nutrient content and to reduce the risk from harmful pesticides 2.  Even when buying raw produce, be sure to thoroughly wash them in clean water.  3. Its not as much as it sounds like!  A large salad can equal 3 servings while one serving can be met with a medium piece of fruit. 4. Mix it up! Be sure to get a variety of colors in your diet.  Different colors carry different nutrients; for example the yellow and orange foods tend to be a good source of Vitamin A and C, while green leafy vegetables tend to offer more iron and Vitamin K.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I include more raw fruits and vegetables in my daily meal routine I will probably find that while time flies it will take longer for it to track me down!

Inspiration: “Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.” Peter Mcintyre

Be: (positive Confession) I am Willingly Wrong.

Do: (first steps) Today, give up your right to be right!  I know this sounds counterintuitive, but think for a minute about the cost of always being right: 1. Others may feel stupid or insecure around you causing them to 2. Put up a wall or shut down around you, which leads to 3. Loneliness.  If you are used to always being correct this may be difficult, but I will guarantee it will be worth it.  For the rest of today and next 7 days, in every interaction hold back from correction, avoid being the one to get the last word in, and don’t give any advice (if anything ask for their help).  Just take the time to intently listen.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I break from the fear of being wrong I’ll find that I’ve opened up the space to be more approachable to others and foster new and more solidly bonded relationships.

Inspiration: “None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone.”  Ralph Waldo Emerson

Be: (positive Confession) I am Whisper-Led.

Do: (first steps) Today, keep your ears tuned in for divine direction.  If you listen carefully you will find that God still speaks to those willing to hear what he has to say; but how do you discern between the voice of God and your own thoughts or the effects of a bad garlic pizza?  Bill Hybels, author of The Power of A Whisper, recommends you use these five filters to help determine the source: 1) Ask God, “Is this whisper from you?”  2) Does the voice you are hearing, or the feeling you are getting align with scripture?  You can be sure if it contradicts the Word, it’s not from God.  3) The Wisdom and Common Sense Test!  God wouldn’t have devoted a whole book (Proverbs) to wisdom if he planned on violating good, common sense.  4) Make sure it lines up with your character.  If it doesn’t, allow time for multiple confirmations through other sources.  5) The Godly Counsel Test.  Find out what the people you trust the most (i.e. a Pastor or Spiritual Mentor) think; ask them if it sounds like God really is speaking to you.  Once any whisper can pass through these filters confidently obey it!

Have: (making dreams reality) As I become more adept at distinguishing the promptings whispered from God’s mouth to my ears I’ll see more of the miraculous in my life and the lives of those I’m called to touch.

Be, Do, and Have the Best Day of Your Life! God Bless You!

Be: (positive Confession) I am Distinguished.

Do: (first steps) Today, demand more of yourself than you do from others.  If there must be two sets of rules, “one for me and another for everyone else”, why not make the rules you follow more stringent than what you expect of the rest of the world.  Always give your fellow man the benefit of the doubt and consider fully the consequences of your own actions, not just to you but, for everyone involved prior to moving forward.  In everything that you say and do require the most prepared effort and accept nothing less.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I determine to live by a higher standard even when the flame of this life is extinguished the excellence I’ve produced will leave a distinguished legacy.

Inspiration: “Deer-hunter, waste not your arrow on the hare” Proverb

Be: (positive Confession) I am a Big Game Hunter.

Do: (first steps) Todayrefuse to get bogged down with things that qualify as small stuff!  Like driving 10 miles to save a penny on a gallon of gas there are a host of activities that beg for your attention on a daily basis that just aren’t worth your time and can actually distract you from core processes that WILL bring you closer to realizing your aspirations.  Guard your time and energy very carefully , recognizing that menial task may at times require a similar expenditure of these valuable resources as a more profitable one, otherwise you will find yourself spent when priceless opportunities are presented.  You probably are already aware of some of the obvious “hares”, like checking your email, organizing your desk for the fifth time this week, and rearranging the furniture again; but don’t stop there, performing duties such as book-keeping (unless you are a book-keeper), cleaning your office, going to the post office, and any other job functions that can be handled by someone without your specific skill set (i.e. the functions that make you a unique asset) will all take away from your quiver of arrows and reduce your effectiveness.

Have: (making dreams reality) As I make the conscious effort to delegate and in some cases completely delete projects that don’t measure up or call for my uncommon capabilities instead of rabbit stew I’ll rake in the big bucks!

Be, Do, and Have the Best Day of Your Life! God Bless You!
