Daily Scripture: Prospering in the Pit
Be blessed as you meditate on and apply te truth of God’s word found in Genesis 39 (KJV)
Genesis 39
2And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
Joseph had nothing of his own. He didn’t own any livestock, he had no land or possessions..he was a slave in the house of Potiphar and yet this passage declares “he was a prosperous man.” By the standards most peopl would set for PROSPERITY I doubt any person in Joseph’s predicament would qualify. One thing the life of Jopseph reveals is that prosperity isn’t in the money we have or the things we own, or even in our status or position (At this point he hadn’t yet been elevated in the ranks of Pharaoh’s government). No, real prosperity is in realized in what takes place in our soul (mind, will, and thought) and spirit. Joseph may have been physically in the pit and made a slave but he had the Lord’s promise and dream burning within him. Because of that he was able to function in adversity with the right attitude. More importantly this attitude was evident to all who observed him, in other words it had an IMPACT on the unbelieving world around him. As a result of that (impact and relationship) the Lord caused everything he touched to flourish.
God Bless You,
