The Thought For The Day: Grooted
Tuesday, August 10, 2010
Inspiration: “The Mighty Oak was once a little nut that held its ground.” Author Unknown
Be: (positive confession) I am Grooted. *
Do: (First Steps) Today, realize that when you have a vision that leads you to the clouds you must have your feet firmly grooted, that is, grounded and rooted in sound principles. This is true of business and life. There is nothing wrong with being an individual, even a little crazy, so long as you can back up your actions with truth and integrity. Don’t be swayed by fad doctrines or unfounded proclamations, watch out for those who merely play on your emotions or attempt to convince you to simply trust your feelings. Feelings and emotions as a whole are unreliable, but the word of God stands the test of time, hold fast to its truth for your life.
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As long as I spread my roots deep and wide in solid ground even my wildest dreams have the potential to produce a majestic outcome.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
* The term Grooted is attributed to Rev. Bam Crawford, spoken at IPMC July 2010.
The Thought For The Day: Applicator or Abdicator?
Thursday, August 5, 2010
Inspiration: “I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply ALL my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy.” Og Mandino
Be: (positive confession) I am an Applicator.
Do: (First Steps) Today, do what all successful people do, apply yourself to learning then to what you have learned. According to success coach Tony Robbins the overwhelming majority of people who attend his seminars (and others like it) and purchase his materials fail because they never open the packages and pop in the cd’s ( as if they are expecting the information contained therein to be absorbed through mental telepathy or osmosis). The statistics for this industry are mind boggling when you consider only about 20% of people who purchase materials ever open the packaging (buying alone was their “victorious step”), even less- 10% go on to listen to all of the materials, and just a small pittance- 5% put what they’ve learned into practice in their life. Those, though, are the 5% I want you to focus on because these are the people who take the next steps and will accumulate 80% of the wealth that is available for the taking. While the rest choose to abdicate their responsibility and are forced to accept whatever “life deals them” the best (a group I hope and want you to be part of) decide to applicate (my original word) and are empowered to attain the desires of their heart. Your assignment today is simple: go to your closet, book case, garage, or the trunk of your car and pull out whatever it is you invested your money in, but have yet to vest your mental energy and physical capacity. Read it, watch it, or listen to it then do just one of the recommendations every day for the next 60 days.
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I apply the wisdom of the mass wealth producers instead of the masses I’ll reap the benefits afforded to those who are willing to strain their potential to the max.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
Hardened to Difficulties
Monday, August 2, 2010
Inspiration: “Nine times out of ten it is over the Bridge of Sighs that we pass the narrow gulf from youth to manhood. That interval is usually marked by an ill placed or disappointed affection. We recover and we find ourselves a new being. The intellect has become hardened by the fire through which it has passed. The mind profits by the wrecks of every passion, and we may measure our road to wisdom by the sorrows we have undergone.” Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton (19th Century poilitician and novelist, credited with the phrase “the pen is mightier than the sword.”)
Be: (positive confession) I am Hardened.
Do: (first steps) Today, accept the training afforded to you by the adverse situations you face allowing them to reinforce your resolve and your intellect without fossilizing your heart. No one likes to go through trying circumstances or hard times, but the truth is none of us are immune to them. The next time you find yourself shrinking in the face of a test or challenge encourage yourself with these powerful words from my friend, Pastor Joseph Fortunato: “You’ll never go to the high places if you won’t go through the hard places.”
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I endure periods of hardship, becoming toughened mentally and physically, I’ll be fortified for the ascent to the lofty goals I have set.
Be, Do, and Have the Best Day of Your Life! God Bless You!
The Thought For The Day: Smart Patient
Tuesday, June 22, 2010
Inspiration: “Keep a watch also on the faults of the patients, which often make them lie about the taking of things prescribed.” Hippocrates
Be: (positive confession) I am a Smart Patient.
Do: (First Steps) Today, take back control of your health care. By being informed and organized you can help protect yourself from ignorance and medical negligence. According to Mehmet Oz, M.D. star of The Dr. Oz Show here are 3 things you can do to be a better patient: 1. Seek a second opinion because about 30% of the time this will result in a changed diagnosis or treatment plan. 2. Keep a written medical history and educate yourself about any family history of illness or disease. 3. Consider signing on to Microsoft Health Vault or Google Health so that your files are easily accessible even if you are away from home. Lastly, here’s one of my own “be honest”. If you choose not to take a drug or are taking something not prescribed (perhaps leftovers of a relative’s prescription) tell your doctor. Even good doctors can be hamstrung by misinformation.
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I assume a greater level of responsibility for important health related concerns I’ll help protect myself, as much as possible, from bad medicine and do my part to live a longer more productive life.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
The Thought For The Day: Still
Monday, June 21, 2010
Inspiration: “Being still and doing nothing are two very different things.” Spoken By Mr.Han (played by Jackie Chan in The New Karate Kid)
Be: (positive confession) I am Still.
Do: (First Steps) Today, make it a point to step away from frenzied or mindless activity. Invest in a time to quiet yourself before God. This doesn’t mean, however, that you shut down, but rather you shut out preconceived notions of how you see things or think things should be and focus intently on His voice and His heart relying and trusting in the fact that He is Wisdom. Commit to doing this daily, ideally before you start in on each day’s routine of work or play. This will allow you to tune into the frequency that He has designed to set the tempo for your day and your life.
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I sequester myself to the influence of the all knowing, all powerful God who created me I’ll experience a greater level of efficiency and accomplishment with less effort.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
The Thought For The Day: Wholesomely Ambitious
Tuesday, June 15, 2010
Inspiration: “A man without ambition is dead. A man with ambition but no love is dead. A man with ambition and love for his blessings here on earth is ever so alive.” Pearl Bailey
Be: (positive confession) I am Wholesomely Ambitious.
Do: (First Steps) Today, recognize that you are gifted and you have an obligation to share your gifts with the world. In the book, The Broken American Maleby Rabbi Shmuley Boteach he describes two types of ambition as follows: “Broken Ambition is based on the idea that the individual is unworthy and must seek external achievement in order to be distinguished…..Wholesome Ambition is predicated on the idea that all humans are born with infinite value…created in the image of God and therefore born intrinsically and infinitely unique and special.” Someone who is wholesomely ambitious doesn’t look at colleagues as competitors or view others success as infringing on their own. Free yourself from trying to prove your worthiness, realizing that, as Rabbi Boteach so precisely states “(your) existence was called forth from nothingness to add to the majesty and perfection that is God’s creation.”
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I focus my attention on maximizing my potential rather than deriving self-worth from competitive prowess the result of my ambition will no longer be validation but exclamation of my presence here on God’s green Earth!
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
The Thought For The Day: Medicine Mouth
Monday, June 14, 2010
Inspiration: “If you don’t have something good to say don’t say anything at all.” Your Mom
Be: (positive confession) I am a Medicine Mouth.
Do: (First Steps) Today, understand the power of your words. Your “mom’s” advice not to speak toxic words to others must first apply to YOU. Don’t be caught muttering “I’m no good” or “I never get any breaks.” If you’re sick and tired maybe it has something to do with your frequent declaration “I’m sick and tired of ____________ (fill in the blank)!” Go one step further; don’t just avoid making negative statements replace them with positive ones. One way to do this is by phrasing your “positive remarks” in the form of a question to yourself! This helps to engage the natural human tendency of problem solving. So the next time you get ready to embark on a new diet or exercise plan ask your self “Why am I so disciplined in my eating/exercise?”; when you are preparing to give an important presentation at work you can make the querry: “Why am I such an organized and well recieved speaker?” This even works with your children. If you have been in the parenting business for long, by now you realize that railing on them for forgetting an assignment only frustrates you and exasperates them. The next time you are confronted with this situation get your child in the problem solving mode with a quiz-like question that begs a response “Why are you so diligent and on top of your assignments?” Be creative in your inquiries and track your results!
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I replace comments that cut with expressions that empower I will simultaneously write and fill the prescription for success!
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
The Thought For The Day: Gamer
Tuesday, June 8, 2010
Inspiration: “The man who has no problems is out of the game” Elbert Hubbard, Publisher
Be: (positive confession) I am a Gamer.
Do: (First Steps) Today, don’t allow yourself to be discouraged by the problems you face or think that successful people are not confronted with daily challenges. Gamers are always ready for trying circumstances and face them head on without allowing fear to overcome them. Prepare yourself mentally, spiritually, and physically for whatever difficulties your enemies may bring.
Have: (Making Dreams Reality) As I embrace the trials inherent in the game of life with the mentality of a true gamer I’ll blast through the obstacles that hold the unwilling and ill-prepared back and experience the joys of a victoriuous life.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
The Thought For The Day: Going Nuts
Wednesday June 2, 2010
Inspiration: Studies show that people who eat about an ounce of nuts each day have a lower risk of heart disease. Nuts are high in monounsaturated fat which lowers the level of “LDL” (bad cholesterol) and keeps “HDL” intact (good cholesterol). American Journal of Clinical Nutrition Feb. 2006
Be: (positive Confession) I am Going Nuts.
Do: (first steps) Today, grab a handful of nuts! Eating raw, unprocessed nuts is a great way to enhance your health. Nuts are a great source of fiber, good fats, and plant based protein. The best part is that there is a wide variety to pick from. When deciding on which nut you choose to indulge in remember that in most cases nut butters use the poorest quality nuts available; so if you like peanut or almond butter get the kind that is made fresh in front of you while you realize that the whole nut has superior health benefits. You will also want to keep in mind that peanuts, while a good source of protein, vitamin e, niacin, and fiber are also commonly linked to allergies and aflatoxins (a naturally occuring poison spread through molds that have been correlated with a variety of liver problems including cirrhosis, heapatitis, and liver cancer). Better choices are Macadamia Nuts, Almonds, Cashews, Pecans, Brazilian Nuts and Walnuts!
Have: (making dreams reality) As I make nuts a staple in my diet I’ll reap the benefit of a healthier heart.

The Thought For The Day: Digger
Thursday, May 27, 2010
Inspiration: “It matters not what goal you seek – Its secret here reposes: You’ve got to dig from week to week – To get Results or Roses” Edgar Guest, poet
Be: (positive confession) I Am a Digger.
Do: (first steps) Today, dig a little deeper with the assurance that most things of lasting value, (be it diamonds, oil, or a firmer grasp on any discipline) are found below the surface.
Have: (making dreams reality) As I excavate below the surface level where most people stop, the deeper I go the greater the mountain formed by the earth I’ve moved.
Be, Do, and Have the Best Day of Your Life! God Bless You!
