The Thought For the Day: Axe
Monday, July 20, 2009
Inspiration: “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” Abraham Lincoln
Be: (positive confession) I Am (a well sharpened) an Axe.
Do: (first steps) Today, try cutting through the phone book with a butter knife. You might be able to do it, but I guarantee it will take you a lot longer than it would if you spent more time searching and less time cutting with a properly sharpened instrument. The same is true with activities that require mental acuity. While I am an advocate of jumping into action; doing so without the proper know-how or skills is akin to the butter knife/phone book analogy. You can make it work, but why spend all that time wearing yourself out. (An additional side benefit is that the wisdom you develop in sharpening your axe will remain with you for life.)
Have: (making dreams reality) As I use my time wisely, investing in the expansion of my knowledge and skill set I will find I reach my destination in the same amount of time or sooner with less wear and tear on my body.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
