The Thought For The Day: Willingly Wrong
Tuesday November 9, 2010
Inspiration: “Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.” Peter Mcintyre
Be: (positive Confession) I am Willingly Wrong.
Do: (first steps) Today, give up your right to be right! I know this sounds counterintuitive, but think for a minute about the cost of always being right: 1. Others may feel stupid or insecure around you causing them to 2. Put up a wall or shut down around you, which leads to 3. Loneliness. If you are used to always being correct this may be difficult, but I will guarantee it will be worth it. For the rest of today and next 7 days, in every interaction hold back from correction, avoid being the one to get the last word in, and don’t give any advice (if anything ask for their help). Just take the time to intently listen.
Have: (making dreams reality) As I break from the fear of being wrong I’ll find that I’ve opened up the space to be more approachable to others and foster new and more solidly bonded relationships.
Be, Do, and Have the Best Day of Your Life! God Bless You!
