Thought For The Day: Well Hydrated
Thursday, February 19, 2009
Inspiration : “The researchers estimate that over the course of a year, a person who increases his water consumption by 1.5 liters a day would burn an extra 17,400 calories, for a weight loss of approximately five pounds…… 40% of which is related directly to heating the ingested water.” Michael Boschmann, MD, and colleagues from Franz-Volhard Clinical Research Center (Berlin, Germany)
Be: (positive confession) I Am Well Hydrated.
Do: (first steps) Today (and everyday) drink half your body weight in ounces of water (example: if you weigh 200 pounds drink 100 ounces). At the first sign of hunger drink some water before stuffing your face with a meal (studies show that our brain can confuse thirst for hunger).
Have: (making dreams reality) As I properly hydrate I will have the feeling of being full without eating as much. In my efforts to maintain or develop a healthy body composition this will give me a leg up on the biggest enemy: Unwanted Cravings. In addition to that increased water consumption has also been shown to combat fatigue and depression.
Be, Do, and Have the best day of your life! God Bless You!
